Pigeon Trap

In our neighborhood in North Tempe we have a serious pigeon problem. This is a new issue and it is the talk of our street. We are very close with all of our neighbors, it is like the 1950’s here and we are all curious about why now, how and what to do about it. There are owls on rooftops and porches and talk of BB guns versus pellet guns, traps and other ideas I just shouldn’t speak of.  So when I saw this beautiful Antique Pigeon Trap I was seriously tempted but then I thought it is too pretty to let those pests in. I like the idea though so we’ll see . . .

RECYCLE PHOENIX Event

Phoenix Municipal Stadium Parking Lot  •  56th Street & Van Buren
Saturday, September 24, 2011  •  8:00am – 12:00pm

Our goal is to provide one-stop recycling for almost everything, and if we can’t recycle it there…we’ll provide information to you on where you can recycle it!  Radio Disney will be setting up a “sustainability village” and have exciting entertainment on the west end of the parking lot.  our recyclers will be set up throughout the east end, and volunteers will guide drivers to the appropriate area. This is a great time to clean out your garage, closets, and kitchen and bring items to our event to recycle.

For more information or to participate, please call Tom Waldeck at Keep Phoenix Beautiful, 602-534-5114 (tom@keepphxbeautiful.org).

What a Splendid Event!

This past weekend was the Splendid event at SMoCA and Scottsdale Fashion Square. Both events were totally amazing – with packed houses and happy people. Friday night at SMoCA was like a beading love-in and Saturday at Fashion Square was a family crafting day filled with making and milk & cookies. What a ball! Ready to do it again!! Thank you Fuse for the drinks and all the amazing staff who took it on and made it all happen – thanks! Crafting Community and Kid Concierge crew – big, big air hearts!

Here are some pics from the weekend – Enjoy!
