Girls Crafty Weekend

This weekend my girls (well the local one’s) and I got together for a grown up sleepover, crafting weekend. We ate, laughed, ate, drank and crafted. We had butternut squash, pear soup with beet salad and fresh bread. We drank peach champagne with pomegranate seeds. We snacked on maple cookies and black licorice taffy.  We made holiday items to decorate with, stockings for new babies and gifts for friends and families. We had such a great time we all vowed to make it an annual tradition the weekend before Thanksgiving. Sending the kids and husbands on their way we will drink champagne, eat great food and make things with our hands – what could be better? Nothing. Thanks my lady friends!

It’s 110 degrees and I iced my wine

I have had mommy duty all day, we ran to costco and they had a hug bottle of Pinot on sale for $6.99. Well what’s a girl to do? It was warm so I had to ice it! I know it’s wrong I understand that but a girl needs her elixir of life and some times you just can’t wait for it to chill completely.   And who can blame me it was 110 degrees today. It’s hot, one needs ice! No judging me and my cheap wine drinking habits.

Colorado Fabulous

Back to Phoenix in the heat but I know it is only a couple of months and we’ll be back in paradise. Boulder, CO for a week of work, research and play was lovely. It was warm there too mid-day but there were thunderstorms every afternoon which were so wonderful they washed the soul clean everyday. I accomplished so much work wise I am just walking in the clouds. I have new projects on the horizon that i am so excited about.  I also got plenty of play time and beer drinking in.

I watched paragliders on the greenspace of the front face of the Rockies
