Mark your calendars for a historic supermoon!
We’re about to see a a super deluxe supermoon – the biggest in nearly 70 years! This November supermoon will bring the moon the closest to Earth it’s been since January 1948. This event will happen on November 14th, 2016. This supermoon will be 14 percent bigger and 30 percent brighter than an average full moon. This is the closest the Moon will get to Earth until November 2034. It is the closest full moon in the 21st century. So get outside on the 14th of November — better yet host a viewing party.

A Syzygy: An alignment of multiple tracks in the same gravitational system
If you play scrabble here is a word to remember as connected to this upcoming event. When the Sun, the Moon, and Earth line up as the Moon orbits Earth, that’s known as syzygy. This is exactly what will be happening on Nov. 14th – a syzygy!
