I have been in denial about how sad my 1998 Jeep Cherokee was. I heart my jeep but the little red jeep that could is just having troubles keeping up. I have fought having to give it up because I love it so much but an era ended today. I had to face reality and ship her off to a Craig’s list retirement. Into my life is a used Prius. It is red and has many bells and whistles and I know we will be happy together. The short one is just thrilled that I now have a radio that works all the time and not just when we go over a bump or slam the car door just right!

Blog This Target

On a recent visit to Target for some gear and supplies for our upcoming camping road trip I found the perfect towels. They are an ugly green and kind of stupid – perfect for toss-a-ways after the trip. There was an entire pile of them and they were all on clearance at $2. For good reason too. All down the beach towel it reads “I hope that this towel gets posted on your blog” – Why? And who wants such a towel? It would have worked so much better to be naughty and say ” I hope what I am doing right now gets posted on your blog” Well, the real story for me is after washing the load of camping towels, as I get ready for the trip, the gigantic wad of green lint left behind in my dryer. They went from fluffy towels to thin rags in one wash – fine for a camping trip but really Target? Your not Walmart – you can do better.

I guess these did end up on a blog after all – They will be trashed after the road trip and that is fine by me.

The Lego Craze Hit Home

After a fun filled girly slumber party that The Short one attended where the girls played Legos around the clock,  the request came home. Here I was thinking Lego’s were for boys and I’d not have to deal with those little bitty pieces because really the Polly Pockets little pieces are enough! Well the begging began and really they are educational and The Short one loves to construct things, I guess I have to count myself lucky that the request didn’t come sooner. So we had to head out to Target and check them out, man they are really expensive – whoa! Wouldn’t you know it they have a LEGO® Pink Brick Box. It was immediately in the cart and $20 later and a trip home from the store and she was in Lego heaven. The Tall One and I also sat down with her to “help” and the uhm obsessive excited participation set in. I think we are all in trouble. I built a car and a cottage, The Tall One built a McMasion and I added a modern fireplace to it. Oh right this set belongs to the kid – Santa . . . are you reading this? Please bring more Lego’s!
