1977 Internet

As the internet of things creeps ever closer to an A.I. take over I am compelled to pause and think about where we are at with the internet. Our days begin and end with connecting online but have we given much thought to how the internet now connects all things and if all things are connected what do have left that we control in our lives? I pause and look back at this site map of the original internet of 1977.  Forty plus years later we have come a long way but is it for the best?

AZ Sci Tech Festival

I am hosting five panels today at the AZ Sci Tech Festival. You can still attend and register on site at the Mesa Art Center.

I am also hosting a lunch meet up at the festival for those who want to create more experiences out of their STEAM and Sci-Tech events. HERE

At Laboratory5 Inc. We bring together all elements of STEAM and tie them up into a package to promote the work each individual is doing in their fields to celebrate this work. We produce experiences so that those unfamiliar with the glorious, quirky, nerdy qualities of all areas of STEAM can be explored as an adventure to explain these fields.

Be A Citizen Scientist During The Eclipse

Unless you live under a rock you that that on Monday (August 21, 2017) there will be a massive solar eclipse.  We will all be here to experience it so why not take it a step further an participate in a NASA experiment. NASA is inviting eclipse viewers around the country to participate in a nationwide science experiment by collecting cloud and air temperature data and reporting it via their smart phones.

Learn more about becoming a citizen scientist HERE

If you are interested do it now because in order to participate, you have to first download the GLOBE Observer app and register to become a citizen scientist. The app will instruct you on how to make the observations. Second, you will need to obtain a thermometer to measure air temperature. Observations will be recorded on an interactive map.
