here piggy piggy

Fresh from the kiln – Jeremy created these fabu little piggies for a client. They are so much fun I was hoping the client wouldn’t want all of them since he actually only ordered one. But alas upon seeing them he took all six. What little cuties they are. What a great motivation to save money in 2010.

wonky style gift wrapping from scraps

No seriously, I am so into the holidays. I normally don’t even do the gift thing but this year I am magically finding perfect little giving opportunities for the people in my life. But the best part for me is the gift wrapping – that is where the fun is to be had. I have a ridiculous studio that is so fabulous and it is filled with things to pull from for any project. I am an organized, focused hoarder. I love, love, love the personal label maker –  so I know where everything is right now. Easy! Buy the bins, buy the label maker – make it your New Years Resolution. okay that is another post let us focus on the wrapping of the gifts. This was so much Fun – yes capital F! More Sugar! After Monday’s project of creating frosted furniture there was a great deal of  batter, blanks and frosting left over. There were so many bowls of frosting and the cupcakes that were calling for a sweet topping. So I thought it the right thing to  give full life to those miniature cupcakes. I used the leftover, already colored frosting, pulled out my favorite wide flower tip and set about decorating the little yummies. Color by color I filled the bag over and over and made a little sugar flower garden. These pictures are of them put into Tupperware (glass Pyrex really) to take into my last day of class with my after school JR High kids. I was so exited to show them the artistic possibilities and talk to them about color mixing. Unfortunately, it being the last day of class, they ripped the lids off and devoured the little sugar yums without noticing the colors or the flavor and with too few thank yous over their shoulders, they ran off to meet their buses for the ride home. I will take it as a compliment that the cupcakes were so tasty the kids were speechless.
